"The simple intention to surrender control is all you need to experience miracles." - Gaby Bernstein

I have been listening to the Universe. Curious. Heart wide open. Working on releasing control and awaiting miracles.
To some, this post may be too woo-woo and to you I say, please read on anyway, to the end and keep an open mind.

Let's first define the word: Miracle.
mir·a·cle
noun
a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency (Universe, God, One Consciousness, Spirit, Higher Power, etc.)
Note: Miracles are not only big monumental
events, they can be little whispers too.
Breast Cancer.
Those two words certainly don't pack the same punch as they once did. Since day one, I truly believed, no matter how challenging the journey would be, I was going to be ok and I unconditionally welcomed the lessons that would come with it all. Surrender was a word that would constantly show up for me - ahh yes, the Universe sending me messages. And now 7 weeks after the diagnosis, I witness little miracles every day.
As I continue to share my news, time and time again people say: "what can I do?", "how can I help?", "if you need anything...."
When you are on the receiving end of such kindness and generosity, it can be overwhelming and for me, it was more about not exactly knowing what I needed or how someone could help me. I didn't want to waste anyone's time nor dismiss anyone's heartfelt desire to be of service. I didn't know what to say.
Truthfully, I am often the supporter, giver, and helper and now being on the receiving end, I wasn't even sure how to accept the offer. I decided to give it up to the Universe to figure it out. Huh? Ok ok... I am about to lose some of you here, but stay with me for a bit longer...
What I have been leaning into (and totally against my typical nature of wanting to control everything) is letting the Universe work its magic. Yup! I am now talking about magic too.
That is how I wish to describe the inexplicable results that I have been experiencing - it's like magic when I offer my dilemmas to the greater omniscient power of the Divine Agency, in my case, what I like to call "The Universe."
Recently, I kept asking: "How can people best support me?" And then I released it into the ether without any expectation or needing to control the outcome. Also knowing that because I didn't easily have my own answer, by asking the Universe, I would uncover an answer, the best answer, the right answer. All by surrendering and letting the Universe do its thing.
Now you may be thinking, yeah ok lady, you "release" the question and then what? A thunderous response comes from high above à la Charlton Heston and The Ten Commandements? Well, not exactly. Answers, when open to receiving them, can be found in words someone says, words you read or even lyrics from a song being played on the radio. Often the answer is not just given once, but keeps showing up, sometimes in different forms. The answers are always there. The key is being open to receiving them.
Two days ago, we received a holiday letter from a friend who was giving us updates from the year including his newly found hobby, being part of a Prayer Circle. He listed a number of intercessions his group had performed with wonderous results. At the end of the letter, there was a call for submissions, should one be so inclined. I'll be sending him a note after the holidays to be added to the list!
Yesterday, in speaking with a close family friend and upon sharing my cancer news, she proceeded to tell me about her own cancer journey at the beginning of the pandemic and also told me about her experience being the recipient of a Prayer Circle intercession. She recounted the feeling of joy that she felt going into surgery and the light-hearted exchange with the surgical team just before her going under. She attributed this positive energy bolt to the prayer group. Coincidence? Perhaps.
I prefer to think of it this way...if we believe that we are all energy, and I certainly do, then it wouldn't be far-fetched to think positive vibrational thoughts or intentions from someone, or a group of people, could influence the outcome of something - like surgery.
Have you ever been in the presence of someone and before they say a word, you could FEEL their energy? Positive or negative?
So intentionally when someone or a group of people choose to send love, positive vibrations, or good intentions, the same energetic projection can exist. Energy is energy and the larger the collective of individuals sending positive energy out to someone for healing and positive outcome, we have a miracle!
When I started to see the "answers" showing up for me, I also recalled another friend who said, "We will pray for you and you know, our prayers are always answered. We have proof of it!"
And there it is. The answer to how people could best support me right now.
I want to be perfectly clear on one point here, I am more of a spiritual being than a religious one (even having been raised a Catholic) and I know how the word "prayer" can turn some people off, but what I am about to ask of you, of anyone offering support, help or assistance is...
On January 11 at 12:30 pm, please help me by raising positive energy to support me in my breast cancer journey. If you're so inclined, pray or do whatever aligns with your beliefs and what you feel would generate good vibrations like the Beach Boys Good Vibrations! Then send the good vibrations my way for a positive outcome - that the cancer is fully rid from my left boob!
I BELIEVE IN ...
❤️ the power of love
❤️ the strength of collective energy
❤️ the healing of positive vibration
Let's do this together!
19 more sleeps....

My mom did exactly this!!! She had thyroid surgery and she asked all of us to imagine her covered with a soft yellow(her fave colour) blanket just before she went into surgery. And it all went well. I will Imagine you in a cozy, cupcake decorated blanket as you are getting prepped and as you are in your surgery. It will keep you safe and surround you with sweet positivity.
