Whew. 7 days to go until surgery day. Sh!t is really getting real now.

Cried a lot today. I'm working through emotions I have managed to push aside for a bit while I worked on getting other stuff done and life sorted. There's only so much emotional room. Now that I'm in 100% Cancer Journey mode, suppressed and "put on hold" emotions started to show up in BIG STYLE today.

This morning I opened up my op-docs containing all the information I need to know pre-op and post-op, reviewed them in detail, made personal notes of things I need to get done and started to check things off...

✅ no more alcohol until I saber the bubbly to celebrate the end of this journey

✅ no pain meds until post-op (my achy knee will just have to hang tight!)

✅ figured out how to remove my new ear piercings (no jewelry allowed in surgery)

✅ purchased special cream to help keep my boob skin supple

✅ found my fuzzy hygge socks for the operating room (it's cold in there!)

✅ start tackling laundry mountain

✅ making list of foods and supplements to have on-hand post-op

✅ locating all my fav comfy cozy clothes

✅ register for online cancer patient programs - first one starts tomorrow!

✅ sort out my boob art project (more on that later)

And right on queue... emails from Women's College Hospital with my pre-op imagery appointments for January 11:

⭐️ 8:30 am - Imagery: Boob pics

⭐️ 10:00 am - Imagery: insertion of wire for guided surgery

FUN FACT: Currently in my left boob I have titanium markers to identify where my cancer is located. Super Hero Markers! These will be connected to the wire that will be inserted into my breast. The surgeon will use the wire as a guide during surgery. Cool, right?!

7 more sleeps...

Wow! The wire sounds super cool. Very high tech. I am curious about the boob art. I’m glad you did some crying. one of my fave records as a child was Free to Be You and Me and one of the songs is It’s Alright to Cry.” Crying gets the sad out of you. Raindrops from your eyes. It’s going to make you feel better. “. Love to you pal.

You’ve got this, Vibrant One! I so wish I could bring you fancy coffees and lunches to fuel your preparations. Keep your pecker up, as they say in the commonwealths, and keep on crying. (These two things abide together, as you know so well. ) Love and goodwill is surrounding you.
